EXPLORE THE DIVERSE CAREER PATHS FOR PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS!

A professional musician very often has a job, either simultaneously or consecutively, as a performer (performance, orchestras, choirs, instrumental ensembles) and music teacher (music schools and conservatories). Depending on a musician's background, he/she may take on work as a composer, performer, program director, producer, etc.

After earning their DNSPM and bachelor's degree, students will therefore be able to find work depending on their specialization and compete in professional competitions for musicians or singers. The DE certification makes a student eligible for the external competitive exam in the French public sector for a position as a level 2 teaching assistant in the performing arts ("Concours d'assistant territorial d'enseignement artistique principal de 2ème classe"). After three years in this position, the teaching assistant can take the internal competitive exam for a position as a performing arts professor. Students with a DE certification (music education diploma recognized by the State) can also work in community music schools or private or public cultural organizations.

These two certifications with the bachelor's degree strengthen the student's ability to find a job. ESM academic programs and training give students access to the European job market (bachelor's degree accredited in Europe), to graduate school and to a wide range of professional opportunities.
